The reader’s alphabet catalog

The reader’s alphabet catalog (RAC) take an important place in the system of catalogs of the National library, and also necessary and connecting part.

The reader’s alphabet catalog is totality of bibliographic notes, as a rule, situating in alphabet order of the first words of bibliographic description.

The main function of the RAC is information about concrete creation of seal or other document in fund of library; what creations of determinative author it has (individual or collective); what publications of determinative creations are in the fund.

The reader’s systematic catalog

The reader’s systematic catalog (RSC) is charging since 1934, since times of foundation and opening of the National library. The classification base of RSC was librarian classification under reduction of Tronovsky. Starting from 60 years of XX century RSC was transformed on LBC (Librarian Bibliographic Classification). RSC of the National Library is reflecting books about all the branches from funds of general books archives of specializing departments.

RSC consist of language series: in Russian, in Kyrgyz and other people languages of the UIS. The literature in English, French, German and other foreign languages have been included in general series of RSC, and also it have been reflected and replaced for special direction point: “Literature in foreign languages”. The adding RSC is the official part of catalog, in which asking literature is reflecting.

RSC is included in informational system, consisting of catalogs and card indexes.
