Online bibliographic catalogues of the National Library’s resources
Online catalogues of the National Library’s resources contain bibliographic data about books, magazines, newspapers, and other printed materials acquired since 2000. These catalogues are managed by library software IRBIS.
Full-scale electronic cataloguing of the National Library’s collections using the library software IRBIS was begun in the context of the project funded by Eurasia Foundation “Advancing the system of information service in the Kyrgyz Republic”.
The catalogue "Kyrgyzstan" provides an opportunity to search bibliographic data through the collection of national press articles, gathered from within the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic collections. The presented catalogue "Kyrgyzstan" was developed in the beginning of 1990-s and contains bibliographic data for the period since 1991 till 2001.
The resource has been developed within the framework of the Small Grants’ Project, which was realized by the Internet Access and Training Program (IATP), financed by the Education and Culture Bureau of the USA State Department (ECA) and administrating by the Council of International Research and Exchange (IREX).
On-Line systematic card index of articles provides access to analytical records of periodicals on legal issues from the collection of the Library Center of Legal Information.
The resource was developed by the assistance of Soros Foundation.
The collection contains full texts of abstracts from dissertations acquired during 2003. There are abstracts in agriculture, medicine, minerals industry, history and culture of Kyrgyzstan, etc. There are four ways to find information in this collection: search for particular words, access publications by subject, access publications by institutions, access publications by title. You can get access to the collection only inside the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The collection is being developed in the Greenstone Digital Library Software.
